Tech Tuesdays Vol. 24: "SECURITY! SUH-CUR-UTY!"

Ravage, from "Transformer 2: Revenge of The Fallen"

WARNING: IF YOU HAVE ANY IRRATIONAL FEARS OF A SORT OF ROBOT-POCALYPSE, DO NOT WATCH THE FOLLOWING VIDEO.

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

'Transformers: Beast Wars', anybody?...

If Robophobia kept you from viewing the above, 'tis a shame. Nevertheless, you can read about it here. Once again, DARPA has brought a new baby into the world: and this one, with the help of Boston Dynamics, can gallop at 18 mph. I don't need to tell you the possibilities. Unfortunately,
Boston Dynamics isn't publicly held or traded; BUT if the future you could come back in time he (or she) would say "Invest in metals" like Michael Phelps.

Metals, and various electronic components that we won't list here.

With all this craziness in store for our futures, you're probably pretty concerned about your security, eh? Rightly so. Today we take a look at the Future of Security, as well as its PRESENT, to keep you safely sequestered in the various BOXES of your life.

Did you ever notice that? That we spend most of our lives trapped in BOXES? Our cars, our houses, our jobs...
WHAT ARE WE AFRAID OF?

Why not build tunnels so we never have to smell fresh air? Everything can be nice, neat, and safe.

Think about it.

While working on this article I was troubled when a certain official MadTV sketch video on YouTube had had "embedding disabled" by its uploader (shocker). I am pleased to announce I have the solution: http://forums.hak5.org/index.php?showtopic=10499

How's THAT for security!?

NOW, please enjoy the show. Or else I'll REALLY call "SUH-CUR-ITY".

(Note: TDS does not own the images or videos shown here. It is being displayed under creative license, public use license, whatever you wanna call it -- we're good).
