These aren't the sequels you're looking for

As most Star Wars fans know by now, the franchise has fallen into the hands of Disney. At first, thoughts of a bubbly Darth Vader or quirky Han Solo started to fill the internet, but once it was made public that J.J. Abrams would direct the next installment of the series, fans were able to breathe easy.   Abrams is the same director who revitalized the Star Trek films and has proven himself time and again.  The recent news to cause a riff in the force is Disney's announcement that there will be 'standalone' movies in development.  Disney CEO Bob Iger stated, "I can confirm to you today that in fact we are working on a few standalone films.  Larry Kasdan and Simon Kinberg are both working on films derived from great Star Wars characters that are not part of the overall saga."

Harsher punishments for cutting the line at the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' ride.

Although VII is slated to come out in 2015, the standalone movies do not have any time table, yet.  While the rumor going around is the new standalone series will follow Yoda, there has not been anything official as of now.  Maybe they will also get a 'Best Of' collection of the Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes' Cantina Band...but that is probable just a pipe dream.

They were the Earth Wind & Fire of Tatooine.
